Drinks, Sides, and Vibes at Boogaloos

As for “MOOD ELEVATORS” you can indulge yourself in champagne cocktails for $6.00. These include Mimosa orange juice, Cyprus grapefruit, Poinsettia cranberry juice, Bougainvillea cranberry & orange juice, and Manzanita apple juice. Beers go for $5.00. You can also choose to have Petrov Vodka Cocktails for $7.00; these include Screwdriver orange juice, Greyhound grapefruit juice, and Bloody Mary tomato juice.

There are over a dozen types of beverages listed under “CAFE TRACKS”. Bottomless House Coffee and Iced Coffee go for $2.50 each. Fresh Brewed Iced Tea, Teas, Espresso, Americano, and Cafe Au Lait go for $3.00 each while Cappuccino goes for $3.50. Hot chocolate, Mexican hot chocolate go for $4.00 while Mocha goes for $4.50.

The “SINGLES” is Boogaloos’ version of side dishes. If you would like to add individual items to your meal, this is the section to look at. One egg of any style costs $2.00, while two cost $3.75. Tortillas, Salsa Ranchero, Fresh Salsa or Sour cream all go for $1.50 each. Avocado or guacamole goes for $2.00. White rice, Blueberry Coffee Cake, English Muffin, Corn Muffin, Boogaloo Biscuit, Sourdough, Wheat, or Rye go for $3.00 each. Homefries, Black beans, Vegan Sausage, Ham, Bacon, Andouille, and chicken-apple sausage go for $3.75 each. Steak and Soy-Rizo Hash go for $5.75 while Chorizo hash goes for $6.75.

Generally, Boogaloos enjoys a positive review among clients, and helps cater to business events for banks and credit unions around San Francisco. Many people have applauded the restaurant’s service, saying that the meals served are generous and well priced. Clients also reported that although the restaurant is busy on weekends, the wait time is relatively short. There is a consensus among people who frequent Boogaloos that the meals and drinks served at the restaurant are delicious. Customers also appreciate the fact that there is a wide variety of items to choose from on the Boogaloos menu. Boogaloos’ staff is also very friendly towards customers and relatively knowledgeable about the different things on their menu.

Many of the restaurant’s customers say that they would or have already recommended the restaurant to their family and friends. The location is convenient, and the space is well decorated. The restaurant’s vibe truly embodies San Francisco’s culture. If you happen to be in Mission District, then Boogaloos is the perfect place to grab your breakfast, lunch, or brunch. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. Keep in mind that the restaurant’s operating hours are from 8 am to 3 pm. Unfortunately, Boogaloos currently only has a takeaway service and does not offer dine-ins.

What is on the Boogaloos Menu?

The Boogaloos menu is filled with all sorts of exciting dishes. It is divided into different categories; Breakfast, More Tracks, Drinks, Mood Elevators, Cafe Tracks, and Singles.

There are over a dozen options to choose from under the “Breakfast” category. The first item is “THE BASIC” which goes for $9.50 and consists of two eggs accompanied with fries and an option of either wheat, English muffin, sourdough, rye, corn muffin, biscuit or blueberry coffee cake. You can choose to add ham, bacon, VEGAN sausage, chicken-apple sausage, or andouille for an extra $3.75. You can also add Flank steak with onions for an additional $5.75, or Temple those spuds! For $2.75. The second item on the list is the “BOOGALOO CLASSIC” which goes for $11.00 and consists of two eggs of any style, homemade biscuit, and home fries, stifled in vegetarian herb-cream and covered with green onions. The next item on the Breakfast list is the famous “TEMPLE O’ SPUDS” which is basically Boogaloos’ homemade fries covered with cheddar cheese and melted jack, green onions, salsa, and sour cream. The “TEMPLE O’ SPUDS” comes in two sizes: Full at $9.00 and a Half order at $6.50. You can also choose to lay an egg on top for an extra $2.00 or add guacamole or avocado for an additional $2.00.

The “DESAYUNO TIPICO” goes for $11.00 and consists of two eggs made in a style of your choice, salsa, black beans, grilled plantain cake covered with sour tamarind cream, accompanied by corn tortillas. The “HUEVO RANCHEROS” goes for $10.00 and consists of two eggs on a corn tortilla with ranchero sauce, jack cheese served with black beans, cilantro, and sour cream. The next item on the list also priced at $10.00 is the “BURRITO DESAYUNO” which consists of scrambled eggs and cheese covered in a flour tortilla, served with cilantro, sour cream, ranchero sauce, and black beans.

“CHORIZO – N – EGGS” goes for $11.50 and consists of two eggs scrambled with traditional chorizo, and is served with sour cream, corn tortillas, cilantro, black beans, and salsa. Next in line is “SOYRIZO – N -EGGS” which goes for $11.00 and is made up of two eggs scrambled with Boogaloos’ vegan chorizo. “ZYDECO BREAKFAST” goes for $12.00 and is made up of two eggs made in a style of your choice served with sour cream, corn muffin, salsa, black beans, and andouille sausage. “POLENTA – N – EGGS” goes for $11.50 and is basically grilled polenta with feta cheese and ranchero sauce, served with black beans, cilantro, sour cream, and two eggs of any style. VICKY’S POLENTA” for vegans also goes for $11.50 and consists of grilled polenta and ranchero sauce, served with black beans, cilantro, and sauteed mixed vegetables. “CHORIZO HASH & EGGS” goes for $11.50 and consists of two eggs made in a style of your choice in a heap of chorizo hash with corn tortillas and cilantro. The last item on the Breakfast section of the menu is “SOYRIZO HASH & EGGS” which goes for $11.00 and is made up of two eggs made in a style of your choice in a heap of Boogaloos’ vegan chorizo hash with corn tortillas and cilantro.

Under the “MORE TRACKS” section of the menu, we have four items. “BISCUIT & GRAVY” goes for $4.50 and consists of veggie herb-cream gravy and green onion. “FRIED EGG SANDWICH” goes for $7.50 and consists of two over-hard eggs and cheddar on grilled sourdough. You can add grilled seitan or avocado and tomato for an extra $2 each. You can also add ham, sausage, or bacon for an additional $3.00. Other items under “MORE TRACKS” include “FRESH FRUIT PLATE” at $3.75 and $5.75, and “OAT CUISINE GRANOLA” with yogurt & fruit at $7.50.

The beverage department is subdivided into drinks, mood elevators, and cafe tracks. Under “DRINKS” we have apple juice, cranberry juice, diet coke, ginger ale, and mineral water, which go for $3.00 each, while chocolate milk and Mexican coke goes for $3.50 each, and french orange and fresh grapefruit juices go for $4.00 each.

Introduction to Boogaloos, San Francisco

Boogaloos is a breakfast and lunch restaurant located at 3296 22nd St San Francisco. The restaurant opened in 1994 and has been a popular spot for people who like to have Southwestern-style breakfast, lunch, or brunch. Boogaloos is most famous for its herb-cream gravy topped biscuits and lemon cornmeal pancakes. Since the restaurant opened in 1994, it has become a meeting place famous for serving large dishes of fresh food at breakfast and lunch, displaying local wall arts on its wall, and playing local bands on its music system.

It is the spot where old college roomies catch up over sangria pitchers and where parents take their children to have pancakes decorated with whipped cream smiley faces. It is no surprise that people line up on the weekends waiting for tables as they socialize on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. Faithful diners frequent the joint, meaning that the wait is worth it. Boogaloos provides a casual, laid back, and inviting atmosphere that’s ideal for families and friends. Some of the creative food choices include a Fresh Fruit Plate, Biscuits and Gravy, Burrito Desayuno, Temple O’ Spuds, and Huevo rancheros. When dining at Boogaloos, remember to ask for any available weekend specials and leave room for the flan dessert, which is homemade. The Boogaloos restaurant is open from 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. Due to COVID-19, the restaurant has temporarily stopped its dine-in service but is offering a takeaway service.

On the early hours of Monday morning, March 7, 2016, Boogaloo restaurant experienced a one-alarm fire. The brief blaze is reported to have originated from the office space on top of the restaurant. One room on the office space and everything in it was damaged extensively. The fire was put out in 30 minutes by the fire department, and there were no casualties reported. Most of the damage was on the region of the ceiling along Valencia Street. Although the blaze did not spread to the restaurant area, it did result in water damage to Boogaloo. By Monday morning, all the burned office rubble had been removed from the building.

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, over two years after the fire broke out, Boogaloos returned to 3296 22nd Street. The popular breakfast and lunch’s restaurant’s return was anything but guaranteed. Even before the fire broke out in 2016, the rent had been raised to $17,500, which was an astronomical price to pay.
